{Its the sign of the times when you no longer have | Today technology has changed many things and you no longer have} to journey outside of your {house | home} to {pay your bills or pick up some groceries and even mail a letter | do your grocery shopping, mail a letter or even pay some bills | do your grocery shopping, or send a letter or even do your banking}. All of these {tasks | daily tasks} can now be done {over | via | by using} the {internet | web}. However the technology that is providing us with these {conveniences | fantastic conveniences | modern conveniences} is also {decreasing the amount of | eliminating the need for} personal contact we may have with {others | eachother}. While this may be {good | suitable | great} in some {cases | instances}, it seems that the priority for {companies | businesses} to provide good {customer service | service} is also slowly {decreasing | disappearing}. Customer service is definitely {becoming a thing of the past | not on the high priority list | not as important as it use to be | not regarded highly as it use to be}.
With {the internet | computers | the web} making {life | everyday life} so automated it is good to know that there are still some {internet businesses | online businesses | companies | businesses} that will still offer {good | good old fashion | fantastic | wonderful | polite | wonderful} customer service. Although the internet {is a great invention | is great | may seem easy to use | can be simple to use | can be easily surfed}, not everyone can find exactly what they need on {websites | sites} and would prefer to talk to {someone | someone rather than an automated message | a customer service representative | a helpful customer service represetative | a person rather than a machine}.
Of course you can {access | find | locate} {information | informative data} about any subject on the {web | internet}, but remember that when you enter particular search {terms | words}, Google will display the results {that are deemed | it deems | that they deem | that it feels} to be {relevant | what you are looking for}. It would be {nice | good} to know then, that you could {call or email | email or call | contact | phone or email | email or phone} someone regarding the information you have {found | discovered} on a {site | website}. If you cannot find contact details for queries regarding the {site | website} you {are on | have found | you are looking at}, you can assume that they probably would rather you did not {contact | communicate with | ring or email} them.
Answering {phones | phone calls} all day and {talking | chatting} to clients can be very {frustrating | tideous} when most of their {questions | queries} can be answered by reading our very informative car rental {website | site}. I suppose we could delete the contact {details | information} or make it difficult to find {a phone number or email | email or phone number}, but this would deter people from {believing | feeling} that we are {customer focused | helpful | wanting to assist | focussed on customer service}.
{Communication | Communicating with clients} does not only have to be conducted by {phone | telephone}. You can also use effective communication skills {via | by} email. In {either case | most cases}, a client these days seems shocked and very appreciative that we have even responded to their {query | enquiry}. Not everyone in our {community | society} can process things over the {internet | web}, so it is important to still provide good customer service options.
I suppose most {online businesses | businesses online} are set up to be run as automated as possible. The dream of making money automatically without any interaction may be possible, but in some industries customers are still in need of {service | assistance} and it is important that business owners have a follow up procedure for any queries generated.
This is not an article to suggest that we should be talking all day on the phone about {the weather or what the client will be doing on their holiday | what we had to eat today, or where a good cafe is | the weather or where to find good coffee | where to find good coffee or the weather}, but some good old customer service would be nice, where questions are answered and contact details are provided for peace of mind. It seems so easy, but then the question is why are so many companies trying to eliminate the need for customer service?
Remember – smile before you answer the phone or respond to an email and it may just make the difference between making a sale and losing a repeat customer.
